Episode 91 – Mentoring 101
Mentorship might seem like a buzzword, but it is not. Mentorship is about people. Mentorship is about sharing knowledge, getting to know others, guiding in the direction of success. The even better part is it is not about the mentor but instead the mentee. Brian & Ed explore the realm of mentorship and how you can accomplish it for greatness.

Episode 89 – Followership
We often look at leadership as a main focal point, but recently we were approached to talk a bit more about mentorship. With that being said, it felt like a good idea to start with detailing the mentor in this episode about followership. Primarily we go into the negative traits seen in some followers and how they can be avoided. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.

Just start here to get a general idea as to what we mean. The 5 styles we talk about are:

Episode 85 – Something to think about…
How we interact with others can be a massive part of our influence. In this episode, Brian & Ed go through a list of some possible social rules you might live by or could start using. These rules are not all-inclusive and can be enhanced to assist you in your personal life. So here they are:
Do not call someone more than twice continuously. If they do not pick up your call, resume they have something important to attend to.
Return money that you have borrowed even before the person you borrowed it from asks you for it. It shows your integrity and character. The same goes for umbrellas, pens, and lunch boxes.
Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is paying.
Do not ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ or ‘Don’t you have kids?’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ or ‘Why don’t you buy a car?’ Remember, It isn’t your problem.
Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It does not matter if it is a guy or gal, senior or junior. You do not grow small by treating someone well in public.
If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time.
Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what is 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides, a second opinion is good for an alternative.
Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all.
If you tease someone, and they do not seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you are.
Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.
Praise publicly and criticize privately.
There is almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic”. If they want to talk about losing weight, they will.
When someone shows you a photo on their phone, do not swipe left or right. You never know what is next.
If a colleague tells you, they have a doctor’s appointment, do not ask what it is for, just say “I hope you’re okay”. Do not put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness. If they want you to know, they will do so without your inquisitiveness.
Treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect.
If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude.
Never give advice until you are asked for it.
When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, do not ask them their age and salary.
Mind your business unless anything involves you directly – just stay out of it.
Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. More so, eye contact is as important as your speech.
Never talk about your riches amid the poor. Similarly, do not talk about your children among the barren.
After reading a good message try to say “Thanks for the message”.
Appreciation remains the easiest way of getting what you don’t have…
