Episode 24 – Building a Lifelong Marriage of Influence

Building a relationship can be a challenge, but having some help along the way is always nice. Here are just a few tips to help you along your journey with your significant other.

 

10 signs the honeymoon phase is over:

1. You stop trying to be your best you in appearance and action for the other person…sweatpants on and makeup or styling off.
2. You start being more honest about your dislikes…especially restaurants!
3. You stop acting like everything is wonderful all the time.
4. Fighting begins…or at least small disagreements.
5. You joke about bodily functions.
6. You are aware of your partner’s negative mannerisms…or what you perceive as negative.
7. You become reactive to conflict or you have an itch to be combative about something you feel strongly about.
8. You have power struggles or start to keep score.
9. You start talking negatively about the partner with someone outside the relationship…could be something as small is talking about what bothers you.
10. You get in a fight and then create separation.

 

 

From this point, the actual relationship building truly begins but only as much as you want it.

3. Don’t bash insecurities…support them –
4. Give needed Space and know how to request it –
5. Do Chores together –
6. Make important decisions together –
7. Have Fun Together, especially laugh –

10. Respect each other when not together –
11. Make sacrifices for each other and don’t keep count –
12. Remember you can only control your 100% of the marriage, not theirs.
13. Share your Faith/Spirituality/Religion
14. Say “I Love You” Everyday…and do it with meaning.
